I'm not Exactly Perfect

May leaves her old high school to avoid being the school slut. She has to deal with a new high school, her father's occasional drunken binges, her own self-destructive sex binge, a boyfriend who expects her to be faithful, a class on Critical Thinking, using her talents to help classmates get boyfriends, her slowly evolving relationship with her stepmother, and the mysterious process of making friends. Ultimately, this is a story about her growing up, dealing with her sexual problems, yet still liking herself for who she is.

You can go to Smashwords and read a lot of the book (and buy it there). The start is good, but the book keeps getting better. It's only $1.99.

Someone told me that the book was sexual. That's fine, I'm portraying a sexual female. But it's not pornographic. For example, you read May's seduction of her boyfriend, but the book skips over the actual sex. Her exceessive promiscuity makes May an interesting character to write about.

The heroine is in 11th grade. It was exciting to write about that age, because they are struggling with who they are and how they fit in. My favorite thing is creating characters. You also get humor and of course romance.
